Tried & Tasted: 100 Bites Dessert Bar at Langham Place

On a random Sunday afternoon, me and my friend went along to Langham Place to check out a brand new spot, since I'm a total all day breakfast junkie and all, and we were pleasantly surprised! Want to know more about a resto on the dark side which won an interior design award? Read on to learn about about the food and cool decor at 100 Bites Dessert Bar now!

Located in the heart of the bustling town that is Mong Kok and buried deep inside in a corner of Langham Place, it might be pretty easy to miss 100 Bites at first. Misleadingly named as a dessert bar, 100 Bites actually has a lot more to offer than meets the eye, so when we took the risk and tried out a somewhat empty restaurant at 12pm on a Sunday, it actually paid off.

First off, we were totally entranced by the all white decor, which with a second look you would realise it is so much more than meets the eye. Their fun and modern decor, with silver silhouettes of famous superheroes and historical figures covering the ceiling, gives off a very young and energetic vibe. You could definitely tell that they put some thought into the design of the place, from the lights hanging about the tables to the little boxes they provide customers to place their bags instead just letting them sit on the floor... No wonder they won the International Interior Design award for Best of Category (Restaurants)!

Onto the main and most important point though, and of course its the food. I remember not being very impressed when the plate of brunch arrived on my table, but after tasting it I was rather taken! The muffins were toasted to perfection with a very buttery taste, tomatoes grilled just nice with a scent of bacon, and eggs scrambled with truffle oil so it has more to offer than just it's bland soft texture. On with the meats, the sausage surprised us all with a oozing cheese center and the bacon, just simply chrispy!

Our second main was a aglio olio topped with sundried tomatoes and spicy prawns. It was a dish rich with taste and a tad on the oily side, so definitely not for the health-conscious! But other than that, we had no complaints whatsoever and almost wanted to lick the plate clean.

Oh, and did I mention they have some delish freshly-blended fruit smoothies to help you wash down the food? For the alcoholics and drinkers alike, there's also wine and other unhealthy choice of beverages...

We also overheard that they do amazing cakes (as dessert bars should!) so definitely hop by if you're looking for new places to try out on the dark side.
