Exploring Soho with Maisha Concept,

Hey guys! Welcome back, and sorry I've been away for a while due to midterms brings close not only exams but also the summer holidays (woohoo... except it still feels like middle of December round here lately). Meanwhile, the long awaited shoot with Maisha Concept is ready to be revealed! I love that they are as much about fashion as they are about charity and making a difference in the world with authenticity and compassion.

Baby are you down?

Bossini light down jacket
Korean Star Wars one piece dress
Sperry x Penfield boat shoes
Jansport backpack

Hey guys! The cold is nigh... But every winter I'm usually the one braving the frosty winds with a denim jacket and shorts, telling myself that yes, somehow those calf-length boots are good enough to keep me warm in a 10 degree environment (about as cold as the 'Kong will ever get...) Who could blame me though? It's not as if down jackets or big furry coats or all those multi-color sport coats were ever my thing, and they were so heavy too.

c/o of Bossini, I discovered a light down jacket that literally rolls up into the size smaller than a 1L bottle, and had none of the weight of the usual down/feather jackets. I took up the challenge to steer away from the usual tees and jeans inside the jacket and tried a completely different vibe (kinda hobo/skater).

I think the beanie made the whole thing work in a weird way that I never thought it would! Thoughts?

Love,

Monki-ing around,

Hey guys! Sorry for the long ten days break. How's everyone doing? Among other things, I've done a collaboration recently with Chibi Lam of Little Hepburn & my fave photographer Gabrielle Salonga for a shoot with Monki's AW13 collection. We had so much fun, and here's the first look.

On me:
Peplum jacket
Leopard patterned skinny jeans

On Chibi:
Beige long coat
Kitty semi-sheer sleeveless shirt
Mustard pleated skirt

c/o Monki's AW13 collection. Accessories stylists' own.

It's a wonder how much a plain white tee can do, and it was almost a challenge for me to try and pair a white tee with practically everything and anything under the sun. Patterned jeans are of course a classic, toning it down with an amazing structured peplum jacket in black. Oh and those white gentleman oxfords are my new favourite. It makes any look instantly classy, and the sneaky 3cm heel gives me that boost but can still be considered as flats.

For the lady-like Chibi, I decided to go with a more girly look, pairing the hard to match mustard yellow with the all time classic beige and black. You can't really ever go wrong with beige/black/white anyway right? Glam it up with some sparkles on the neckline on any dark shirts and slip on those strappy heels, we are going some place posh.

Stay tuned for the other looks in a couple of days, and check out Chibi's take on this shoot!

Much love,
xx

I need your love,

Stella McCartney jacket and dress
Valentino heels

Hey guys! If you're on Facebook or Instagram you've probably heard about this already, but if you haven't, here it is. I recently did a shoot for Joyce Hong Kong for their style icon contest, and it was such a dream come true to style and wear all these amazing pieces.

This SM jacket is party at the fun and work at the back because the front panel is lace while the back is that wet suit material (which is my current fave). The twist on bomber jacket has a lovely navy and white floral print that makes it feminine yet super easy to match. I'm liking the boy-ish touch on a girly outfit so this is where I got my inspiration from for this look.

The pearl necklace and bag are both gifts from my mom and it's a bit of a sentimental look for me too.

Here's the part where I need your help! Since it is a style icon contest, I would love it if you gave me your votes if you like this look (pretty please!). It's pretty easy:

1) Register on style.joyce.com
2) Vote for me here or here or search for my ID (974/975!!!!)

You get 3 votes EVERYDAY, and you can spend it all on one look if you wish *wink wink*!

I'll post two other looks from this shoot soon! Hope you like them as much as I do. Big shout out to the absolutely amazing photographer Gabrielle Salonga and my co-stylist Lin Kit (instagram: @linnnnnnkit), check them out.

Till next time, let me know what you liked down below.

Insta-obesession,

Hey guys! I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's obsessed with Instagram lately... (seriously I can't stop refreshing my feed, it's just so addictive!) And I sure hope I'm not the only who constantly looks at their own profile and through their own pictures. It's cause I'm a nostalgic person and love a trip (or a few trips) down memory lane okay?

But wouldn't it be awesome if I didn't need to shorten my battery life constantly and still could sneak a peek at all the photos with my besties and loved ones? Now with Casetagram I can put them on display offline forever and always.

I chose this layout because I love the half transparent feel of the case and is also quite neat dontchathink? The transparent bits are frosty matt and the snap-on case is made of thin but hard plastic that covers up all the sides without adding too much weight or thickness.

You can be like me and choose to fill it with awesome photos, or you can put on some sarcastic quote or even an Iron Man suit for your phone!

Here comes the technical stuff...

You can download the Casetagram app on the Apple app store or do it on the site itself, and start making your own unique case right away. The app connects to Instagram and grabs your photos on demand so you won't have to upload them one by one, but you can also choose to upload from your camera roll. This is perfect because I hate apps that takes forever and are so inconvenient when it comes to designing something! Confirm your design and add to cart, pay and boom your case will be on its way to your doorstep.

There are cases for iPhone 5/4S/4, iPod Touch 5/4, iPad Mini, iPad 3/2, Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy 4/3/2, and Samsung Note 2/1 and comes in frosty charcoal or white. (Phew, that was hard to type...) With 15+ different layouts and many filters more for you to choose from.

Join their themed design competitions and let your inner-designer out. Get cracking guys and show me your designs!

Prices start from $34.95USD (so around $160HKD)

Much love,
xx

Walking a thousand miles,

Hello hello all! Sorry this post was slightly delayed. Just before Chinese New Year, I was invited to the new Sebago store at Mira Mall to have a look around. I've always been a fan of the casual style, so their shoes are just right up my alley.

The brand have been in Hong Kong for a while now, but now they've finally got their own store! Sebago is a historical brand originating from US in the 40s, known for their leather boat shoes. But now they've evolved into a modern brand, emphasizing on design as well as quality.

I personally tried out a few pairs and it was so hard to choose just which one was my favourite! Their colourful leather loafers were of course my go-to, but I decided to try on some boots too (per my friend's advice).

Sebago have since collaborated with a few artists to create the Artisan Collection, and I have (unknowingly) picked up pairs from the same artist! She is none other than Mdot Booji.

Docksides and Mdot Apache

Left to right: Mdot Nelson, boots from AW12 collection, lime green Docksides (so cute for summer!)

The shoes are all super comfortable and soft, you can really go without socks and not have blisters rubbed out. My fall/winter fave would be the burgundy/brown boots in the middle. They are water-proof as well, which is awesome for rainy seasons.

My bestie trying on their men's collection.

So after ages of trying (and posing and strutting), me and my friend both agreed that I should get the Mdot boots. They're easy to match with shorts or jeans, even dresses! (see my CNY post) and they're perfect for the coming summer season.

Phew that was a long post! In short, I do hope you guys check out the store and their shoes, they're super comfy (I promise). And a huge thank you to the staff at the store for letting me try on about like ten pairs of shoes (haha), you guys are so nice.

You can find Sebago at:
Shop 202, 2/F, Mira Mall, 118 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Tel: 2377 2925

Hope you've had a lovely weekend & tell them Karen sent you.

x
