Real Techniques & E.L.F. Cosmetic brushes review

Hey guys! Today it's something a little bit different! I've been looking for make-up brushes for a while now and have finally took the plunge after hours of internet research. I ordered brushes from Real Techniques and e.l.f. Cosmetics to try out, and here's my review (yay for vlogs!) Click to read in words form instead of watching if that's your jam.

Thrift trip (jackets edition)

Hey guys! Recently I've made a couple visits to Fa Yuen Street and have hit some jackpots! Usually when it comes to buying clothes at thrift prices, the Mongkok and Shum Shui Po area are the places to go, but I'm normally apprehensive because the sizes are limited even though the choices are not. Sometimes the quality can be a bit dodgy too, so you've got to be careful and make sure you double check the goods before you check out!

Anyway here are the things I've dug out of the back of racks and bottom of bins!

Metallic jacket from a reject shop ($80)
Seriously this was $80. (I think I cried a little bit) Its cut-out label marked Zella! But regardless of the authenticity it's a super chic jacket that's going to keep you warm and stylish through winter!

Vintage animal print blazer from the same reject shop ($70)
Marked Alba Moda, this rocking vintage blazer was a size 42, but that's all the better for me because I'm all about the oversize things this season! I'm in love with the vintage chic vibe.

Oversized military jacket ($180)
Suuuuper oversized and with a furry collar attached, this caught my eye immediately. Comes with a belt and extra detachable quilted vest to keep you warm!

Grey jacket ($239)
My favourite out of all favourites! Best bit is the turquoise inside layer that shows when you roll up the sleeves and a slightly oversize cut (when will my things fit by choice!?) Super chic and clean, and can be dressed up or down!

This is only around half of my steals from Fa Yuen Street, so I definitely recommend you give the street a visit if you're feeling the urge to shop and still want to keep your bank account in tack...

Much love & keep warm,
xx

Helloabella Hauls: Giordano & Topicks

Hello one and all!

This is an overdue post on a cheap haul that I went on like in June. I am a basic girl and I always love me some go-to easy tees and no-effort-required flats and flip-flops. So here's what I got for an amazingly low price & high value!

Cute mid-length socks for some boots time. $250 for 8 pairs if I remembered correctly, so ~$31.5 a pair.

Plain and basic (with a slight stretch but very cottony) tees: $99 for 2
I mean seriously guys it can't really get any better than this.

This is the new pair of Top Slider by Sperry I got from Topicks from their closing down sale. You will never guess how much it was. $150. Whaaaaaat?!!?!?! What is life. My other pair of Sperry was being tortured and worn by me so often I knew it had to be relieved of duty sooner or later. (see for yourselves)

And finally a pair of Havaianas, again on sale from Topicks for $1xx (less than $150... somewhere like $139? A knock down from the normal $3xx) and it has a Swarovski crystal element on it! *cheers*

Old (and one size too big) next to new! One pair of flip-flops is never enough guys.

Anyway I'm pretty sure the offer for Giordano has changed (sorry for such a late post!!) and Topicks has closed down since my last visit. It was at World Trade Centre over at Causeway Bay if anyone remembers...

Till next post (in a day or two), be good!

Hey y'all! Check out my new and first ever haul video!! I'm so sorry it's in such bad quality, somehow I'm having trouble transferring the original video from my memory card...

Let me know if you need anymore details on the pieces, and watch out for part deux!

2013 will be just fine,

At the back:
Balenciaga inspired (yes) bag
Cheap Monday booties (I.T. outlet)
Generic furry boots

Top to bottom / left to right:
H&M V-neck sweaters ($99 each!)
White & denim shirts (to sweeten up the sweater deal)
Dark green & wine red knitted sweaters
Cross pull-over sweater
Spongebob sweatpants (haha $25 for some fun)
Skirt/leggings two-in-one
Levi's jeans in classic blue / tribal print
Generic bandage skirts in grey and wine red

All these are really inexpensive items apart from the jeans.

//

This was a huge (to me anyway) haul kick-starting this new year. I haven't had a chance to do winter shopping till now and finally I've gotten some time and money!
This winter I am huge (and I mean HUGE) on sweaters. I've got a couple more stored in my closet from last season but from this picture you can tell I bought three thicker sweaters and two thinner v-necks.

Shirts + sweater combo is my current favourite for this season because it's effortlessly classy. In the picture above I'm sporting my new shirt and knitted sweater from the haul. I love the cute details on the collar, which also gets you a bit of conversation.

Anyway this post will end abruptly here. I promise I'll get some new photos right away. Meanwhile hope you've had a lovely lovely lovely new year's eve and an amazing year ahead.

Be good my children.

Quick I.T. sale post

Jeffrey Campbell the Captive shoes in beige
As Known As de Rue black and white platforms
PaPer minT see-through envelope bag

//

Went with madre to Miramar's I.T. sale last weekend and managed to pick a few items off the sales rack. The Jeffrey Campbells are new arrivals though (hee!) For now I can only review one of the items, which is the JCs.

They are genuine leather loafers, and they are some real tough and thick leather. I wore them for a day, and I had more walking to do than I'd realise in the morning. I ended up with really bad blisters and raw flesh on my ankle by the end of the night, despite using multiple plasters made for evil evil shoes. Although I'm pretty sure they'll break in soon when I wear them a few hours at a time, and I'll end up with a perfect pair of beige loafers in no time.

I've been pretty packed with work and outings so by the time I get home I'm too tired to get my camera on self-timer! But I have plenty of outfits in mind already! So be expecting something from me soon. Plus I'm still waiting for the photos from my friend for the Hermes exhibition!

Meantime, have a great week ahead.
