So I went to explore the Wun Dun Art Bar over at the Fringe Club cause I thought it sounded pretty cool on the Art Basel site, and it totally was in real life! 

Presented by Absolute Art Bureau, artist Adrian Wong presents an installation of unrealistic space that is a crossover between a retro cha-chan-tang & the western bar. The set up was authentic from the first step in, with a server spritzing you with perfume and walking into a live performance of old-school canto tunes. There were also yummy snacks served by waiters and a bar with four different kinds of cocktails for you to order. (p.s. I loved the idea behind it, if you have time, google it up!)

I suppose the most interested part were the cocktails! There's the fragrant Oolong Martini, the spicy Ginger Soup, the strong Duck Vodka (completed with bak-choi) and the yummy Wolfberry Spritz. Sitting in booth seats and watching crabs eat live frogs while chomping on Chow-main, it was a pretty bizarre but amazing experience overall.

What was even cooler was the fact that I had no idea the night I went was a VIP session, and the lovely door keepers just let me in anyway. I was mingling amongst VVIPs, CEOs and media people which was extra amazing. I managed to meet some photographers, the artist of an ongoing exhibition in the same venue, as well as a teacher from Canada who teaches in Shanghai. It was so lovely to meet new people and hear their experiences!

Lesson of the night: explore new places and don't be afraid to meet new people

p.s. the Fringe Club has fab exhibitions that you should all check out! Plus it has a nice bar for you to chill etc. on a sunny afternoon.
